"It's All About The Kids" |
What is "Martini Sports" all about?... Martini Sports is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that was established in April 2008 in dedication to my dad, Joe, to give back to the community he loved so much.

A couple of pictures of my dad... The picture to the left was taken in the late 50's or early 60's I am not what the location is but it looks like he is having a great time. The picture to the right was taken at my nephew's wedding in Wadsworth Nevada, this picture was taken in the late 80's

I feel that I am very fortunate to have made it through life with the experiences I have. My dad never had the chance to do something like this, I would hope that what I am doing in his name would have been as great as what he could have done. His passion was to always give back to our community and what a great avenue to do so. This Organization has and will continue to do great things for our community and the youth it supports, after all, "they are our future..."
At the present time, I have over 35 years of fund raising experience raising monies for other charities. These charities are, but not limited to, "Make a Wish Foundation" of Northern Nevada, Angel Kiss, "The Reno Autism Information Network" (RAIN) and the University of Nevada, Reno. The majority of the fund raising comes through a golf tournament that is held about the third weekend in July. Since 2008 MARTINI SPORTS has been the beneficiary and has provided support to the local community through donations which help our local youth programs. My fathers profession was music and his passions were golf & kids. During the 30th Annual tournamernt we were able to write a $30,000 music endowment at the University of Nevada, Reno in his name with the rest of the proceeds to benefit the Organization and it's mission...
Every year we hold this event, depending on proceeds, we write a check to keep building the endowment.
The Organization has plans for more fund raising events like another golf tournament, in addition to the flagship event, a softball tournament (adult league or youth), a Black Tie event such as an "Evening with the Stars", and maybe a bingo night. Right at this time I am working with a company to modernize the website to make it more visually appealing and user friendly. Look for it in the near future.
